Michael Pacanowsky was the initial holder of the Gore-Giovale endowed Chair in Business Innovation in the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business at Westminster College.  He served as the Founding Director of the Center for Innovative Cultures from 2013-2020.

Michael began studying organizational cultures early as a professor at the University of Utah.  He was most fortunate to have a transformative experience while on sabbatical with W. L. Gore & Associates, where he worked as a consultant and a full-time Associate for 29 years before returning to academia at Westminster.  He is the author of many academic articles on organizational culture, and two books meant for a wider audience, The Thriving Organization and A Friday Filled With Joy. Both address the ideas and day-to-day realities of organizations where organizational success and true human flourishing meet.
