Brigadier General David Hicks (Ret) is a former AF A-10 combat pilot who executed multiple direct combat missions for the AF and then transitioned to training Afghan pilots by standing up the Special Mission Wing training command in Afghanistan. Gen Hicks is a chair member of the Moral Compass Federation (MCF), a nonprofit coalition of organizations dedicated to evacuating our former direct combat allies and at-risk women from Afghanistan.

With the invasion of Ukraine, Gen Hicks has transitioned to providing humanitarian support through the Team 5 medical foundation, setting up emergency hospital resources immediately on the border to Ukraine in Poland. Gen Hicks is one of several MCF chair members who are working to support and help with the ongoing humanitarian disasters in both Ukraine and Afghanistan.
