Andy Klump

Andy Klump is a renewable energy executive with twenty years of solar energy, storage and technology experience with 15 years operating in China.  Mr. Klump is the Founder and CEO of Clean Energy Associates (CEA), a solar energy and storage engineering services firm established in 2008 which serves investors, EPC contractors, utilities and other downstream clients in the areas of supply chain management, quality assurance, independent engineering, and business intelligence.  CEA’s team of 100+ professionals and 70+ engineers with a presence in 10 countries and 4 continents have worked with clients in over 50 countries and completed over 35GW of projects.  

Prior to CEA, Mr. Klump served as the Vice President of Business Development for Trina Solar where he oversaw the company’s international expansion plans covering upstream polysilicon procurement, downstream project integration and development and together with the executive management team, he helped raise nearly $500M in capital during the company’s IPO and follow-on offerings on the New York Stock Exchange from 2006 to 2008.  In addition to his duties with Trina Solar, Mr. Klump also served as a board member on several energy platforms in 3 continents over the past decade as well as on the board of the US Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) in 2007 and 2008.  

Prior to 2006, Mr. Klump worked in sales, business development and strategic planning roles in China for large companies such as Dell and Intel as well as technology startups in the US.  Mr. Klump holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  He speaks Mandarin with business proficiency and resides in Shanghai, China with his wife and four daughters.
